HAMILTON CITY COUNCIL
Business prospectus

Hamilton City Council’s economic development team was putting together a business investment prospectus designed to showcase the city’s value proposition to new business investors. And they needed a strategic storyteller to refine the messaging.

REFINING THE CITY’S STORY
In order to attract new businesses and support existing ones, the prospectus needed to tell Hamilton’s story from a new perspective.
That meant finding a way to bring together the city’s business story, regional connections, cultural identity, lifestyle appeal and future potential – all in one cohesive narrative.
REFINING THE MESSAGE
I was brought into the team to help refine the messaging, strengthen the tone and craft new sections of copy.
The aim was to create a narrative that would resonate with businesses considering Hamilton Kirikiriroa as a location for continued growth or new operations.
To do this, I reviewed the draft through both a strategic and editorial lens, looking at how the story flowed, where key messages could be enhanced and how the tone could feel ambitious without becoming generic.

A ROCK-SOLID INVESTMENT STORY
The final prospectus gave Hamilton City Council a more cohesive way to talk about the city’s value proposition and confidently take that message to business leaders, investors and decision makers across Aotearoa.
It helped position Hamilton Kirikiriroa as a connected, ambitious and welcoming location of choice for business growth, with copy that reflected both the strength of the local economy and the character of the place itself.
