1. CONNECT

You say hey. I say hey back. We chat through your project and what success looks like for you. If it sounds like a fit, I’ll send you a proposal with a quote, timeframes and my Ts &Cs to consider.

2. BOOK

We make it official. You give me the green light, pay the deposit, and boom you're booked.

3. DISCOVER

We’ll dig into what makes your brand magnetic – even if you don’t see it yet.

4. RESEARCH

I get cracking on this vital piece of the copywriting puzzle. Depending on the project, this may include voice of customer research and getting nosy about your competitors.  Already done the work around your audience, brand voice, messaging, or keywords? Amazing. I’ll review it all with fresh eyes.

5. WRITE

With all that juicy insight gathered, I put pen to paper…or rather fingers to keyboard and tap out original, creative and powerful words that will resonate with your people. We go through two rounds of collaborative revisions to make sure it’s just right.

6. POLISH

I give everything a final scrub, check for sneaky typos and tie it up in a bow ready for you to release into the wild.  

7. CELEBRATE

Jaw to the ground, you fist-pump your way to the fridge for a celebratory beverage.

“Hannah has been the engine behind a nearly 18-month effort to significantly upgrade the copywriting and storytelling elements of the Tech in the Tron project.

The project is a partnership between Hamilton City Council and leading tech sector businesses to seek out and shine a light on the talented people and innovative businesses that are doing great things here in the Waikato.

Hannah’s work has included story ideations, research, interviews, writing, reinforcing themes and ensuring that the core fundamentals of the project came through for the reader.

So far, her primary work has resulted in nearly 25 dynamic stories about a diverse set of businesses and interesting people. Each story was written with the rigour and clarity of a professional journalist while maintaining a style that is fun to read, engaging and completely on-brand for our project.

Her work carries an authentically Waikato perspective that is subtle but a vital part of the project.

 

There is no generic “live, work, play” phraseology or the robotic language that can often plague economic development work.

Hannah has also contributed to nearly every way that we try to communicate our value proposition to growing businesses and tech sector professionals. This has meant email newsletters, sector-specific summaries, website copy and social media teasers.

  • What kind of content do you write?
    SEO website copywriting, brand messaging, campaign content, landing pages, About pages, mission statements, media releases, social media content, case studies, packaging copy, feature stories, thought-leadership content + more.
  • Do I need to have everything figured out before we work together?
    You don’t need perfect brand guidelines or a 40-page strategy deck. But you do need to know what pieces of content you’re after. While I’m a messaging strategist, I’m not a communications or marketing strategist. I can’t create a plan for you, but I can bring your plan to life with strategy-infused copy that gets results.
  • How long might a project take?
    It depends on the scope. A 5-page website, for example, may take between 4-6 weeks from brand discovery to final copy. A case study or feature story may take 2-3 weeks. I only work with a select number of purpose-led brands at a time, so you get my full attention instead of rushed, recycled words.
  • What makes you different to other copywriters?
    I specialise in fresh, creative + personality-packed words for cause-driven brands. My work is original, bold and grounded in strategy. No fluff, no filler, no yawny stories. If you’re a cause-driven brand looking for creative, playful words – that’s my sweet spot.
  • Can you help me figure out what I actually want to say?
    Absolutely. I have a knack for making messy thoughts make sense. If you know who you’re talking to and what your organisation stands for, I can shape the message and find the right words to achieve your goals.

    Clear, collaborative and supportive. I care about what you’re trying to do which is why I prefer working with purpose-led organisations. I ask thoughtful questions, guide you through each step and craft strategic copy that transforms your brand.
  • Can you become an extension of our marketing team?
    Yes. I regularly work alongside in-house teams, designers, strategists and comms pros to bring campaigns, websites and brand messaging to life. I’m used to quickly understanding briefs and happy to jump into whatever tools you use to keep projects on track.
  • What are the different ways we can work together?
    Most of my projects are one-off, fixed-scope pieces like website copy, case studies or brand messaging. But I also team up with in-house marketing and communications teams, designers and agencies on longer-term projects or ongoing support. If you're not quite sure what you need yet, we can start with a discovery session to find the best option.
  • Will you use Chat GPT to write my copy?
    I embrace AI tools like ChatGPT to support the creative process, speed up research, spark ideas and in some cases, help with early drafts or phrases and messaging. But I believe the best copy needs a human brain and an expert in the driver’s seat. AI tools are only as good as the person using them and the output is only as strong as the brief. And even then, the content generally needs quite some work to lift it to gold-standard quality. I know how to assess, curate, refine and shape the output so it actually does what you need it to.
